This barn, designed by Lake Flato Architects, features a lounge area, a pickleball court, and a treehouse bedroom with stunning forest views. Clad in Douglas fir tongue and groove, the barn is part of the client’s family summer home. We worked closely with both the client and Lake Flato, bridging communication throughout the project. One standout feature is the reclaimed fir flooring from the Hingham Shipyard, a historically significant detail, as this wood was originally used to construct WWII battleships. Custom touches like modular teak furniture and lime wash plaster create cozy, functional spaces, balancing both grand gathering areas and intimate guest rooms.
