The homeowners sought a serene tropical retreat, a warm contrast to their family residence in New Jersey. They were drawn to soft seafoam greens, accented with a touch of glamour, and envisioned a space that would serve as a peaceful haven to reconnect with loved ones.
Originally, there was a bulky wall opposite the window that separated the kitchen from the rest of the house. Our client, an incredible chef, needed a kitchen worthy of hosting large family gatherings, so we removed the wall, opening up the space for everyone to enjoy.
We gave the living room a much needed refresh by swapping out the old, dingy doors for larger impact doors that open to the outdoor kitchen. We also added custom built-ins made from pecky cypress. In the bedroom, we sourced a fabric that could be railroaded and wide enough for large panels and avoid visible seams, all while working within the existing constraints. For the bathroom, with no room in the budget to move plumbing, we kept everything in place and gave the space a much-needed facelift!
The project culminated in a joyful reveal, made even more special by the fact that the owner hadn’t seen the home until installation day, just in time for the holiday season. We adorned the space with festive decorations, and the moment was met with heartfelt tears of joy from everyone.
